DIGITIZATION OF FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: EFFECTIVENESS OF SITAB APPLICATION IN THE 2024 REGIONAL ELECTIONS

Abstract

Digitalization of financial management in the context of the 2024 Pilkada is important to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the budget management process. One of the efforts implemented by the Cilacap Regency General Election Commission (KPU) is the use of the Budget Stage Information System (SITAB) application. This application is designed to facilitate planning, reporting, and monitoring of Pilkada budget allocations. This internship aims to assess the effectiveness of the SITAB application in supporting the financial management of the 2024 Pilkada at the KPU of Cilacap Regency and shows that the SITAB application simplifies the financial management process, increases the accuracy of budget data, and accelerates the reporting and evaluation process. Its use also increases transparency, where each stage of the budget can be monitored directly by relevant parties, thus reducing the potential for fraud or misuse of the budget. The method used was hands-on practice of using the SITAB application during the internship. However, challenges still exist in terms of user training and adaptation, especially for officers who are not familiar with digital systems. Overall, the SITAB application proved to be effective in improving the quality of Pilkada financial management at KPU of Cilacap Regency, although further capacity building and socialization is needed so that this application can be used optimally.
